Sequins and sparkling embellishments are one of 2023’s biggest red carpet trends. Now, stars including Kerry Washington, Jessica Alba and Quinta Brunson have brought back the fad for Vanity Fair’s annual Oscar party, which took place on Sunday in Los Angeles.

Washington wore an off-the-shoulder design by Giambattista Valli, which was dripping with crystal embellishments. Her voluminous gown also featured a ruffled tulle skirt and satin bows. Washington added on a pair of Christian Louboutin heels and Messika jewelry. The actress was styled by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, who also count Jennifer Lopez, Lily Collins and Hailee Steinfeld as clients.

Jessica Alba glistened in a crystal mesh Tamara Ralph gown, which came from the label’s spring 2024 couture collection. Her silver off-the-shoulder frock was festooned with floral appliques.
